All data that are relevant for the weld or for traceability are saved to the
internal memory and can be sent to a printer or a personal computer.
For the transfer of welding data, the unit is equipped with two USB in-
terfaces, one of the USB A type, located on the front panel, the other of
the USB B type, located on the back of the box.
Further Optional Accessories

Operation
5.1
Turning the Welding Unit On
After connecting the power supply cord to the mains power or a genera-
tor, turn the welding unit on at the On/Off switch. This causes the display
to the right to show.
Then the screen changes to Display 2.
5.2
Entering the Welder ID Code
The welding unit can be configured to ask for the welder identification
code before the fitting code is entered. The display screen then shows
the message "Enter Welder Code." The numeric code can be entered
either by reading it from a tag with the scanning pen or by using the
arrow keys , , , .
When the welder code is read from a bar code using the scanning pen,
an audible signal confirms this and the screen shows the next input
display. When the code is entered manually, it is saved by pressing the
START key. If the code entered is not correct, a "Code Error" message
appears; check the sequence of numbers and correct as needed. If the
code entered is correct, it is saved to system memory and inserted into
the welding reports to be printed.
If ISO Mode (see section 10.1) is enabled, only the ISO welder identi-
fication code is accepted by the unit. If ISO Mode is disabled, both the
Hürner welder code and the ISO welder code can be entered.
If the welder code feature is disabled, the input screen for the welder
code will not show.
5.3
Connecting the Fitting
Connect the connection terminals to the fitting and check for proper con-
tact. If needed, use appropriate push-on adapters. The contact surfaces
of both the terminals and the fitting have to be clean. Dirty contacts may
lead to improper welding and overheated and fused contacts.
When the fitting is connected, the "No Contact" message disappears
and the unit shows both the next report number, for instance report
no. 0015.
5.4
Reading the Fitting Code with the Scanning Pen
Only the bar code on the tag sticking on the fitting to be welded may
