IX. DEALER SERVICE & ADJUSTMENT
I. ANTERIOR SUPPORTS
When deciding if you should use Anterior supports, always consult your healthcare
advisor.
Some children, due to their disability level or physical condition, may need anterior supports
to help maintain proper posture or body position. Such devices include head straps,
shoulder straps, thoracic strap systems, pelvic supports, and belts.
WARNING
Risks of injury with head supports and how to avoid them.
Excess movement or migration of the pelvis- This may cause the supports to displace. If
this occurs, severe injury to the child could result.
To avoid risks:
1.
It is VITAL to keep the child in a stable pelvic position.
2.
Anterior supports should ONLY be used with seat, back, and pelvic supports or belts
that keep the child from sliding down in the seat.
3.
Anterior supports must be fitted by your authorized supplier and your healthcare
professional.
4.
After fitting, anterior supports, they should ONLY be placed and adjusted by trained
professionals.
5.
DO NOT leave the child unattended when using anterior supports.
J. HIP GUIDES (OPTIONAL):
Width Adjustment, (A):
1. Determine the proper location for each hip pad.
2. Remove the seat cushion to expose hip pad adjustment screws.
3. Loosen two adjustment screws for each hip pad just enough to allow adjustment.
4. Adjust hip pads to the desired position.
5. Tighten the adjustment screws and replace the seat cushion.
Forward/Rear Adjustment, (B):
1. Determine the proper location for each hip pad.
2. Remove the cushion of the hip guide to expose hip pad adjustment screws.
3. Loosen two adjustment screws for each hip pad just enough to allow adjustment.
4. Adjust hip pads to the desired position.
5. Tighten the adjustment screws and replace the hip guide cover.
: Hip pad hardware must be removed for hip widths greater than 10" (254 mm). The
NOTE
foam hip pad attaches beneath fabric at back pivot point to accommodate an 11" (280 mm)
hip width.
