used for ALL lifting preparation, transferring from
and transferring to procedures.
POSITIONING THE STAND UP LIFT AROUND
PATIENT (FIGURE 1)
NOTE: Refer to the SAFETY SUMMARY in the front
of this manual before proceeding further and ob-
serve all WARNINGS indicated.
WARNING
DO NOT attempt any transfer without approval of
the patient's physician, nurse or medical assistant.
Thoroughly read the instructions in the Owner's
Manual P/N 1078796, observe a trained team of ex-
perts performing the lifting procedures and then
perform the entire lift procedure several times with
proper supervision and a capable individual acting
as a patient.
The legs of the stand up lift MUST be in the MAXI-
MUM OPEN position and the shifter handle
LOCKED in place for optimum stability and safety. If
the patient is in a transport sling and it becomes
necessary to move through a narrow passage, close
the legs of the stand up lift ONLY AS LONG AS IT
TAKES TO MOVE THROUGH THE PASSAGE. Once
the stand up lift is through the passage, return the
legs of the stand up lift to the MAXIMUM OPEN
position and LOCK shifter handle IMMEDIATELY.
Before positioning the legs of the stand up lift
around the patient, make sure the patient's feet are
out of the way of the footplate, otherwise injury can
occur.
NOTE: If preparing to lift the patient from a bed, make
sure there is nothing under the bed before pushing
the stand up lift under the bed and around the pa-
tient.
1. OPEN and LOCK the legs of the base. Refer to
CLOSING/OPENING THE LEGS OF THE BASE
in the OPERATION Section of Owner's Manual P/N
1078796.
2. Using the push handle, begin pushing the stand up lift
around the patient. Make sure the patient's feet are
out of the way of the footplate.
3. Have the patient position their feet on the footplate as
shown in FIGURE 1.
LIFTING PREPARATION

4. Continue to push the stand up lift around the patient
