Disinfection
Perform thermal machine disinfection, observing all national requirements regarding the
A0 value (see ISO 15883).
Drying
Drying of the outside of the instruments by means of the drying cycle of the
cleaning/disinfection unit.
If necessary, the instruments can also be manually dried using a lint-free cloth. Cavities of
instruments can be dried using compressed air.
5.3.2
Manual Reprocessing
Pre-treatment in the ultrasonicator
The instruments are inserted into an ultrasonicator with 0.5% enzymatic cleaning agent
•
and are treated with ultrasound for 15 min at 40°C (104°F).
Remove the instruments and rinse with cold water to remove the cleaning agent.

Cleaning
Prepare cleaning bath according to the manufacturer's instructions.
Rinse instruments under cold mains water (<40°C/<104°F) until all visible dirt has been

removed. Remove hardened dirt with a soft brush.
Fully insert the instruments into the prepared cleaning bath. Observe the exposure time
•
according to the manufacturer.
Manually clean the inserted instruments with a soft brush. All surfaces must be brushed off
•
several times.
Rinse instruments thoroughly under running mains water to fully remove the cleaning
•
agent.
Disinfection
Prepare the disinfection bath according to the manufacturer's instructions.

Insert instruments into the disinfection bath. Observe the required exposure time.
•
Rinse instruments thoroughly, using demineralized water, to fully remove the disinfection
•
agent.
Drying
Use a lint-free cloth for manual drying.
