5.5. GUN POLARITY

The polarity of the gun has an impact on the quality of the weld.
Depending on the type of part to be welded, and its material, it is preferable to connect the positive texas of the gun to
the or – terminal of the generator. Below is the table of the choice of polarity retained by GYS.

5.6. STATION WELDING RATE

The welding rate of the station is calculated dynamically so as not to exceed an effective current taken from the
network of 16A. Depending on the type of insert to be welded, and therefore on the current and the welding time, the
machine will have a more or less long rest time between two welds.

5.7. POSITIONING OF GROUND CLAMPS AND ARC BLOWOUT

With the exception of the installation of a pull ring for bodywork (see §7.1) where the ground clamp
is ensured by the ground rods (n°4 - Fig 2), the use of remote ground clamps is necessary .
For welding parts not exceeding Ø5mm, a single ground clamp is sufficient. Beyond that, it is necessary to use a ground
cable equipped with two clamps, in order to avoid any arc blow phenomenon.
As a reminder, the arc blow is proportional to the welding current and can be influenced by a symmetrical attachment
of earth clamps. Reminder of the ISO 14555 standard on the positioning of earth clamps according to the welding
configuration.
