Operating manual
1. WARNINGS - SAFETY RULES
GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
These instructions must be read and fully understood before any operation.
Any modification or maintenance not indicated in the manual must not be undertaken.
Any bodily injury or material damage due to use that does not comply with the instructions in this manual cannot be held to be the responsibility of
the manufacturer.
In case of any problem or uncertainty, please consult a person qualified to handle the installation correctly.
ENVIRONMENT
This equipment must only be used for welding operations within the limits indicated by the nameplate and/or the manual. Safety guidelines must be
observed. In the event of improper or dangerous use, the manufacturer cannot be held responsible.
The installation must be used in a place free from dust, acid, flammable gas or other corrosive substances. The same is true for its storage. Ensure
air circulation during use.
Temperature range :
Use between -10 and 40°C (14 and 104°F).
Storage between -20 and 55°C (-4 and 131°F).
Air humidity:
Less than or equal to 50% at 40°C (104°F).
Less than or equal to 90% at 20°C (68°F).
Altitude :
Up to 1000m above sea level (3280ft)
PROTECTION OF INDIVIDUAL AND OTHERS
Arc welding can be dangerous and cause serious injury or even death.
Welding exposes individuals to a dangerous source of heat, light radiation from the arc, electromagnetic fields (beware of pacemaker wearers), risk
of electrocution, noise and gaseous emanations.
To properly protect yourself and others, observe the following safety instructions:
In order to protect yourself from burns and radiation, wear clothes without cuffs, insulating, dry, fireproof and in good condition, which
cover the whole body.
Use gloves that guarantee electrical and thermal insulation.
Use a mask or goggles with a shade between 5 and 9. Protect the eyes during cleaning operations. Contact lenses are particularly
prohibited.
It is sometimes necessary to delimit areas with fireproof curtains to protect the welding area from arc rays, spatter and incandescent
waste.
Instruct people in the welding area not to stare at the arc rays or molten parts and to wear adequate protective clothing.
Use a noise helmet if the welding process reaches a noise level above the authorized limit (the same for anyone in the welding
area).
Keep hands, hair, clothing away from moving parts (fan).
Never remove the casing protections from the cold unit when the welding current source is live, the manufacturer cannot be held
responsible in the event of an accident.
Parts that have just been welded are hot and can cause burns when handled. During maintenance work on the torch or the electrode
holder, make sure that it is cold enough by waiting at least 10 minutes before any work. The cold unit must be switched on when
using a water-cooled torch in order to be sure that the liquid cannot cause burns.
It is important to secure the work area before leaving it in order to protect people and property.
WELDING FUMES AND GASES
The fumes, gases and dust emitted by welding are dangerous to health. Sufficient ventilation must be provided, a supply of air is
sometimes necessary. A fresh air mask can be a solution in case of insufficient ventilation.
Check that suction is effective by checking it against safety standards.
