Installation and operating manual
DANGER!
Risk of burns!
Motors can become hot during operation!
Do not touch the motors.
Danger of severe accidents!
Particular dangers exist when carrying out welding work.
You must always abide by the national safety and acci-
dent prevention regulations when carrying out welding
work (e.g. BGR 159 in Germany).
ATTENTION!
Incorrect rope lengths!
Can result in damage to the device!
The rope end connection, the load bearing point or the rope
end itself must never be pulled up to or into the product or the
accessory parts!
Use a rope with adequate length.
Whenever necessary: Monitor the rope during operation.
Loading
DANGER!
Risk of being injured by falling objects!
Secure loads against falling.
Secure loads against twisting.
Switch on the on-site main switch or insert the CEE plug into
the connector.
Turn the EMERGENCY-STOP button to the right until it
releases:
The control unit is switched on.
Attach the load.
On ropes with hooks: Close the safety catch.
Always abide by the maximum permitted load when loading
the load lifting equipment.
Note:
Moving / rocking whilst stopped can result in the "overload"
buzzer
being
activated
ng light coming on. No overload is present if the buzzer or the
warning light switches off as soon as the personnel lifting equip-
ment stops moving.
Operating the hoist
Run the hoist in the pulling direction until the rope is ten-
sioned (run hoists with two speeds at the lower speed).
Run the hoist in the pulling direction until the load lifting
equipment is raised or pulled.
Let down or release load.
EN-16
If the rope / hoist does not stop:

10.3 Emergency descent

The load lifting equipment can be lowered manually in the event
of a power failure.
Risk of falling! Risk of injury caused by falling objects!
You are only allowed to lower the hoist in manual mode in an
emergency.
The centrifugal brake might not brake the load in case of
overloading!
The centrifugal brake prevents rope speeds that are too high
when lowering manually.

10.4 Operation using the hand crank

(optional version, see Table 1 on Page IV)
Hoists for manual emergency operation with hand crank may
only be operated with the hand crank in emergencies (power
failure, rescue).
Observe the end of the rope when lowering or slackening.
Stop immediately when damage, loops or knots are de-
tected.
Stop: Release the button.
Press the EMERGENCY-STOP button.
If the EMERGENCY-STOP button fails, disconnect the hoist
power supply (e.g. by pulling out the plug).
Have the hoist inspected and serviced by an electrician or
authorized service personnel (see '15.1 Authorized mainte-
nance personnel' on page 19).
DANGER!
The hoist must always be tested by TRACTEL Greifzug
GmbH or a hoisting gear workshop that has been author-
ized by TRACTEL Greifzug GmbH after an emergency
descent.
Any damaged or worn part found must always be re-
placed.
In the event of overloading, never open the service brake
(spring-applied brake) manually.
Remove the lever (1) from the anchoring.
Insert the lever (1) into the brake bracket through the slot in
the hood of the motor (2).
Lift and hold the lever.
The load is lowered.
Let go of the lever to brake.
Anchor the lever again after use.
Send the hoist to the manufacturer for testing or repair or
send it to a specialist hoisting gear workshop.
