INSTALLATION
NOTE
Fastening screws may not exceed the following
dimensions:
• Max. screw diameter: 4 mm
• Max. screw head diameter: 7 mm
6.3.3. Positioning of signal transmitters
For automatic control of the connected pumps,
a corresponding level control device must be
installed. This needs to be provided by the cus-
tomer.
The following signal transmitters can be used:
• Float switch, level monitor
• Level sensor
• Dynamic pressure bell (only in the "IPS" version)
The corresponding signal transmitters must be
installed according to the unit's installation plan.
DANGER – explosive atmosphere!
If the connected signal transmitters are
used in potentially explosive areas, there is a
danger of fatal injuries from explosions! The
following must be considered:
• Connect the float switch and the level sensor
via an intrinsically safe circuit (Ex cut-off relay
or Zener barrier)!
• Connection must always be carried out by a
qualified electrician!
Note the following:
• When using float switches, ensure that these can
move unobstructed in the operating space (pump
chamber, reservoir).
• We recommend the use of a bubbling-through
system when using a dynamic pressure bell. This
ensures proper aeration of the dynamic pressure
bell.
• The water level of the connected pumps must not
fall below the minimum!
• The maximum switching frequency for the
connected pumps must not be exceeded.
6.3.4. Dry-running protection
Dry-running protection can be provided via a
separate float switch or via the level sensor/
dynamic pressure bell.
When using the level sensor or the dynamic
pressure bell, the switching point must be set via
the menu.
A forced switch-off of the pumps always
occurs, irrespective of the selected signal
transmitter!
6.3.5. High water alarm
The high water alarm can be via a separate float
switch or via the level sensor/dynamic pressure
bell.
When using the level sensor or the dynamic
pressure bell, the switching point must be set via
the menu.
A forced switch-on of the pumps always occurs,
irrespective of the selected signal transmitter!

6.4. Electrical connection
POTENTIALLY FATAL DANGER due to electrical
voltage!
Incorrect electrical connections can cause fa-
tal electric shocks! Electrical connections may
only be carried out by a qualified electrician
approved by the local energy supply company,
in accordance with locally applicable regula-
tions.
DANGER – explosive atmosphere!
If the connected pumps and signal transmit-
ters are used in potentially explosive areas,
there is a danger of fatal injuries from explo-
sions! The following must be considered:
• Pumps must comply with the ignition protec-
tion class "Pressure-resistant enclosure".
• The pumps must be directly connected to the
switchgear. The use of additional electronic
start-up controllers is prohibited!
• Connect the signal transmitter via an intrin-
sically safe electric circuit (Ex cut-off relay or
Zener barrier)!
• Connection must always be carried out by a
qualified electrician!
NOTICE
• Depending on the system impedance and the
max. connections/hour of the connected con-
sumers, voltage fluctuations or voltage drops
may occur. Always have the electrical connec-
tions carried out by an electrician authorised by
the local energy supply company.
• When using shielded cables, the shielding must
be attached to the earth rail on one side of the
switchgear!
• Observe the installation and operating in-
structions for the connected pumps and signal
transmitters.
• The mains connection current and voltage must
be as stated on the rating plate.
• Fuse protection on the mains side must be in
accordance with the data in the wiring diagram.
All-pole disconnecting, K-type circuit breakers
must be installed!
• A residual-current device (RCD, type A, sinusoidal
current) must be installed in the supply line. Ob-
serve the local laws and regulations on this too!
• Route the power supply cable in accordance with
the valid norms/regulations and according to the
connection diagram.
• Earth the system (switchgear and all electric
consumers) in accordance with regulations.
