OPERATION AND FUNCTION
Menu 5.44 / Activation delay time after power
failure
To prevent overloading of the mains connection
through simultaneous activation of numerous
consumers at the installation location, reactiva-
tion after power failure can be delayed.
Menu 5.58 / Collective run signal (SBM)
The required function of the collective run signal
can be set:
• "On": Switchgear ready for operation
• "Run": At least one pump is running
Menu 5.59 / Collective fault signal (SSM)
The required logic of the collective fault signal
can be set:
• "Fall": Negative logic (falling edge)
• "Raise": Positive logic (rising edge)
Menu 5.64 / Ex-mode for operating the signal
transmitters and pumps within potentially
explosive areas
DANGER – explosive atmosphere!
If the connected pumps and signal transmit-
ters are used in potentially explosive areas,
there is a danger of fatal injuries from explo-
sions! The following points must be observed:
• Pumps must comply with the ignition protec-
tion class "Pressure-resistant enclosure".
• The pumps must be directly connected to the
switchgear. The use of additional electronic
start-up controllers is prohibited!
• Signal transmitters must be connected via an
intrinsically safe electric circuit (Ex cut-off
relay or Zener barrier)!
• Dry-running protection and thermal motor
monitoring must be connected to the correct
terminals (see 6.4.4 and 6.4.7)!
NOTE
The factory setting of this parameter is "on"
due to safety reasons! Value "off" should be
set if the switchgear is not to be operated in
Ex-mode.
The following functions are customised by acti-
vating the Ex-mode:
• Follow-up times: Pumps are switched off without
follow-up time!
• Dry-running protection system: If the dry run lev-
el falls short of the limit, pumps are switched on
again only if the "Pump level 1 and 2 OFF" level is
exceeded!
• Thermal motor monitoring: Deactivation through
the bimetallic strip must be reset manually!
• Dry-running protection system: Alarm signal
through dry-running protection must be reset
manually!

7.6. EasyActions
The EasyActions menu offers quick access to the
following functions:
Resetting error messages
Pump 1 is switched on in the manual mode
as long as the operating button is kept
pressed
Pump 2 is switched on in the manual mode
as long as the operating button is kept
pressed
Pump 3 is switched on in the manual mode
as long as the operating button is kept
pressed
NOTE
This EasyActions menu can be disabled in the
menu 7.06!
7.7. Fieldbus connection
The switchgear is prepared for connection via
Modbus RTU as standard. Connection is estab-
lished via a RS485 interface (electrical connection
as per chapter 6.4.14).
The switchgear works as Modbus slave. Basic
settings are made in menus 2.01 to 2.05.
Different parameters can be read and also
changed to some extent via the Modbus inter-
face. An overview of individual parameters and a
description of the used data types are portrayed
in the Appendix.
7.8. Basic functions
7.8.1. Priority when dry run and high water signals are
present simultaneously
If the system malfunctions, it may happen that
both signals are present at the same time. In this
case, priority is defi ned depending on the select-
ed operating mode:
• "Drain" operating mode
• Dry-running protection
• High water
• "Fill" operating mode
• Dry-running protection (via External OFF)
• High water
• Low water
7.8.2. Pump cycling
To prevent irregular running times of the individu-
al pumps, general pump cycling takes place. This
means that pumps are changed after all pumps
have been switched off.
7.8.3. Forced switching of the pumps in case of dry
run or high water
High water level
A forced switch-on of the pumps always occurs,
irrespective of the signal transmitter used.
