Idle speed
Caution
Check and adjust the idle speed after all other items of
the engine have been adjusted to the specified ranges.
For this model, the idle speed is controlled by an ECU. Since
the intake flow at idle speed has been properly adjusted upon
delivery, do not adjust the idle speed adjusting screw as desired. In
case the idle speed is unsteady, zero or too high, find out the
possible causes with the troubleshooting method for the EMS
system and eliminate the trouble.
Under the monitoring of the maintaining and diagnostic
instrument, check whether the ignition advance angle is between
0°-15°. If the ignition advance angle is more than 15°, it
indicates the throttle valve's intake flow at idle speed is insufficient,
and at this point, the idle speed is unstable or null; if the ignition
advance angle is less than 0°, it indicates the intake flow at idle
speed is too big, and at this point, the idle speed is often as high as
more than 1800 r/min. Only under the above two cases, unscrew
the retaining nut and adjust the idle speed adjusting screw to let the
intake flow reach the specified flow.
Idle speed 1500 r/min ± 150 r/min.
After adjusting toe-in, remember to screw up the retaining nut.
