Fastening the rack and pinion

• The rack and pinion must be
fastened to the gate brace.
• Use suitable screws for the
material of your gate (see page
8).
• Never lubricate the motor rack
and pinion.

• Open the gate completely.
• Use the pencil provided to mark the position of the rack.
If the pencil makes a mark above the brace, the
rack provided us not suitable for your gate.
A low-fastening rack (ref. 2401294) must be used.
Please contact Somfy.
• With one hand, hold the pencil in the notches provided
on the motor and with the other hand, slide the gate to
mark the fastening height of the rack.

• By aligning the top of the rack with
the line drawn in pencil, the required
2 mm clearance between the rack
and pinion is obtained.
• If the fastening points are too close
to the edge of the brace: fasten the
rack at the centre of the oblong
holes.

• Position the rack by aligning the top of
the rack with the line drawn in pencil.
• Fasten the first element of the rack at
the top of the oblong holes, beginning at
the le -hand side of the gate.
• Install and fasten the other items in the
same way, interlocking them with the
others.
