Valve. The valve is a mechanical device to infl ate/

b
defl ate the tyre and maintain air pressure inside the
air chamber (or tyre in the case of tubeless tyres).
It consists of three parts: the valve closing cap (a)
(to protect the internal mechanism from dust and
guarantee air tightness), an internal mechanism (b)
and the base (c) (the outer lining).
Tubeless Infl ater. An infl ation system which simplifi es
infl ating tubeless tyres.
Beading. Operation which takes place during infl ation
and ensures perfect centring between the bead and
the rim edge.
Bead pressing gripper. A tool intended for use when
mounting the upper bead. It is fi tted so that it grips
the shoulder of the rim and holds the tyre upper
bead inside the rim well. It is generally used for
mounting low profi le tyres.
Air delivery regulator. Union allowing regulation of
the air fl ow.
Bead breaking. Operation that allows the tyre bead
to be detached from the rim edge.
