- Make up the girders 14.1 and the locating lugs 14.2 and
14.3 and glue them to the underside of the forward deck
9.18 (F).
- Drill 1.5 mm ø screw holes right through the deck and the
sub-structure at the marked points. Drill out the holes in the
deck only to 2.5 mm ø.
- Drill out the hole for the anchor capstan in the reinforcement
only to 3.3 mm ø and pull the rivet nut 14.4 into it.
- Glue the screw 14.5 in the anchor capstan 14.6. Screw the
deck and capstan in place using the self-tapping screws
14.7.
- Sand back the deck flush with the front hull section.
- Drill a central 4.5 mm ø hole in the baseplates of the five
bollards 14.8.

- Apply tape to the top and bottom of the half-former 4.5 to
prevent it being glued in place.
- Glue the girders 15.1 to the underside of the slotted aft deck
4.8. Cut out the opening for the stern light 15.2 and glue the
light in place (F).
- Position the aft deck on the boat, align it carefully and fix it
in place with two self-tapping screws 15.3. Glue the two
remaining bollards in place.
- Fix the girder 15.5 to the unslotted section of aft deck 15.4
and attach it using two more self-tapping screws 15.3.
- Drill 1.5 mm ø holes in the triangular plates 15.6 which form
the antenna tripods and position them as shown. Mark the
position of the holes on the two aft decks. Take particular
care where the two deck sections meet.
- Fit lengths of 1.5 mm ø brass rod to prevent them shifting.
- Drill 1.5 mm ø holes in the retaining gussets 15.7 and glue
them to the deck from the front. Mark the position of the
holes in the half-former 4.5, then remove the decks.
- Drill out the holes in the retaining gussets only to 2.5 mm ø.

- Glue three bollards on the deck 9.18 aligned with the screw
heads using a drop of cyano each.
- Attach the girder 14.10 to the bow deck 14.9.
- Cut out the net saw 14.11 and drill 1.5 mm ø holes in the
moulding as shown. Stiffen all the braces with 1 x 3 mm pie-
ces of the plastic profiled strip 14.12. Drill a 1 mm ø hole in
the position shown and glue the split pin 14.13 in it. (F)
- Place the net saw centrally on the bow deck and mark the
position of the fixing holes. Drill holes in the hull in line with
the deck holes.
- Drill out the holes in the net saw and the deck to 2.5 mm ø
(F).
- Fix the net saw and the bow deck to the hull using the self-
tapping screws 14.14.

- File out the rear joints between the decks 4.8 and 15.4 to a
half-round shape at the marked points.
- Drill and countersink the bollard 15.8 which is to actuate the
switch. Open up the hole in the ring-screw 15.9 and solder
it vertically to the switch pushrod 6.5. Fit a nut 15.10 on the
ring-screw, insert the bollard and tighten the top nut in the
countersunk recess. Secure the nut with cyano. Moving the
bollard now switches the radio control system on and off.
- Install the decks again, fitting the screws 15.11 at the front
corners.
- The next step is to make up the antenna tripods: place the
triangular plates 15.6 on the wooden blocks K and mark the
hole positions.
- Make up the bars 15.12 and the struts 15.13 and fit the
parts together on the block. Slip the split pins 15.14 into the
struts according to the drawing and solder the parts
together at the top to complete the tripods.
- Glue the baseplates to the bars and strut.
- Fix the antenna tripods on the decks using the screws
15.15.
