- Cut the spacer strips 2.6 to a length of 400 mm and glue
them to the sides from the keel bulkhead (F).
- Cut six spacer strips 2.7 from 1 mm ABS sheet and glue
them in front of the hull centre section projecting by 3 mm.
Cut two spacers 2.8 with a height of 5 mm and 7 mm from
the I-beam strip and glue them in place as shown.
- Place the pressure vessel 2.9 against an angled piece of
furniture so that it cannot rotate and is flush. Tape a fine felt-
tip pen to a wooden block 53 mm high and run the block
along the table top to mark a centreline over the full length
of the pipe.
- Slide the pressure vessel into the hull centre section with the
centreline approximately at the top.
- General note re. deck bulkheads and half-bulkheads:
before you cut the bulkheads out mark the centreline on
each one with a fine felt-tip pen, using the marked points as
a guide. This is essential to correct alignment (F).
- Glue the rearmost deck bulkhead 2.10 to the pressure ves-
sel at a distance of 1 mm from the edge of the pipe. The two
centrelines should coincide.
- Slide the pressure vessel into the hull centre section and set
their rear edges flush. Position the pressure vessel careful-
ly relative to the bulkhead and the other hull components.
The pipe will project at the front end, but it must not project
beyond the rear edge of the centre hull section at any point.
- Glue the pipe to the hull centre section where the parts
meet. Glue the pipe to the keel bulkhead 2.5 at the front
end.
- Tape a temporary jig strip „H" to each of the deck bulkheads
2.11, 2.12, 2.14 and 2.15 (F). In the transition area position
the deck bulkheads 2.11 - 2.15 between the slot masks and
the hull components.
- You will need to use the main deck 2.16 to position the deck
bulkheads correctly.
- Cut out the hatch area in the conning tower shoulder and cut
out the slots as described for the slot masks. Drill 1.5 mm ø
pilot-holes for the railings.
- Place the main deck on a suitable piece of wooden board

about 15 mm thick. Mark the board with the hole positions
for the front and rear deck railings. Be sure to use the angle
template WS when drilling the holes.
- This board is used in Stage 17 as the solder jig LH.
- Lay the deck on the hull in such a way that the deck
bulkhead 2.10 is located immediately aft of the last row of
slots. Tape the deck in place at the rear.
- Adjust the position of the deck bulkheads using the jig strips
so that each is located between two rows of slots.
- Carefully release the deck and tack the bulkheads to the
pipe alone. Check that the centrelines line up correctly. Fit
the deck again temporarily to check that the bulkheads are
aligned correctly.
- Remove the jig strips and glue the bulkheads permanently
to the pipe and the centre hull section.
- Make up the rear spacers 2.17 and glue them between the
hull and pipe at the rear. Check that they are the same
height.
- Starting at bulkhead 2.14 place the crescent-shaped for-
mers 2.18 on the pipe and allow them to slip into contact
with the hull at the sides. Check that they are positioned
symmetrically right and left, then glue them in place (F).
- Taper the top edge of the two rear bulkheads (at bulkheed
2.11) to the point where they fit past the flooding slot.
- Sand back the rear edges of the hull centre section flush
with the pipe, taking care not to sand the pipe itself. Sand
the gluing area for the deck completely flat.
- Make up the track rails 2.19 as shown.
- Slide the base frame into the pipe and push the jig strip HP
into the track rail from the front.
- Place the hull centre section in the boatstand and set the
centre section and the base frame horizontal. Clamp the jig
strip to the pipe, then slide the frame 5 - 6 cm to the rear.
Mark its exact position on both sides of the pressure vessel
adjacent to the jig strip. Glue a piece of track rail at a point
12 mm further inside between the marked points, and leave
the joints to set really hard.
- Repeat the procedure at the rear end of the pressure ves-
sel.
