- Cut a T-shaped slot in the bearing bracket 7.1 for the rudder
pushrod, then glue the screw 7.2 in place using Stabilit-
Express.
- Glue the bearing bracket in the hull according to the dra-
wing. Check that it is vertical.
- Insert the bearing rivets 7.3 in the 5 mm ø holes and fit the
square shaft 7.4.
- Pack up the shaft with the block K and 3 mm ABS packing
pieces to set the shaft horizontal (F).
- With the shafts resting on the blocks, set them at right-
angles to the boat's longitudinal axis.
- File out the holes if necessary until the shaft alignment is
correct.
- When you are sure that the bearing rivets are located cor-
rectly, tack them in place with a drop of cyano applied from
the outside.

- Drill a hole in the vacuum-moulded bar 8.1 for the rudder
system and trim the part along the marked lines (F).
- Assemble the support from the tubes 8.2 and sand smooth.
- Fit the washers 8.4 and bushes 8.5 on the rudders 8.3 and
slip them into the rear hull section from underneath.
- Screw the ball-end bolts 8.7 into the collets 8.6, fit them on
the rudder shafts and tighten the ball-end bolts lightly.
- Invert the boat and place it in the stand.
- Install the bar 8.1 and set the rudders exactly vertical. Mark
the position of the front hole for the bar on the keel and drill
it 1.5 mm ø.

- Withdraw the shaft and apply a fillet of Stabilit-Express
round the bearing rivets on the inside.
- Cut the tiller 7.5 to size.
- Fit the collet 7.6 and grubscrew 7.7 in the tiller 7.5.
- Install the tiller and shaft.
- Fit the collets 7.9 and grubscrews 7.10 in the hydroplanes
7.8 and fit them on the shaft. Tighten all the grubscrews.
- Glue two further bearing rivets 7.3 in the bar 7.11 and sand
them back flush.
- Fit the bars on both ends of the shafts. Pack up the shaft
again and set the correct angle.
- Fold the bars up against the shaft brackets from underneath
and mark the excess. Trim the bars to length, tack them in
place with cyano and then apply Stabilit-Express to glue
them permanently to the shaft brackets.
- Solder the connecting rod 7.12 to the clevis 7.13. Connect
the clevis to the top hole in the tiller 7.5 and connect the pus-
hrods 6.3 and 7.12 using the collet 7.14 and grubscrew
7.15.

- Attach the bar with the self-tapping screw 8.8.
- Check that the rudders are square to the hull centreline.
- Fit the support 8.2 and position it between the keel and the
bar 8.1. Drill a 2 mm ø hole through the keel.
- Remove the bar and the support and open up the 2 mm ø
hole to 3.3 mm ø.
- Turn the boat over again, fit the rivet nut 8.9 from the top
and apply glue round the edges to secure it.
- Fit the bar again and attach the support with the screw
8.10.
- Check once more that the rudders are aligned correctly,
then glue the rudder bushes 8.5 in the rear hull section.
