- Prepare the screw retainer as follows: cut down the tubular
rivet 1.5 to a length of 42 mm and solder the sleeve 1.6 in it.
- Solder the threaded rod 1.8 in the spacer tube 1.7 from the
rear using plenty of solder. Keep to the stated length.
- Slide this assembly 1.7, 1.8 into the tubular rivet 1.5 to help
you align the rivet nut 1.9. Screw the rivet nut onto the threa-
ded rod and solder it to the flange of the tubular rivet using
the minimum of solder. Check that the parts are centred cor-
rectly and stay true when rotated.
- Unscrew the threaded rod; it is not needed again until Stage
12.
- Push the screw retainer into the front bulkhead 1.11 together
with the washer 1.10. Do not glue the parts yet; this is done
in Stage 12.
- Fit the front bulkhead in the baseplate.

- Remove the lengthwise flanges from the right and left hull
centre section mouldings 2.1, taking care to hold the knife
vertical (F). Use a fretsaw to make the lateral cuts.
- Check that the mouldings are the right way round: the front
end of both parts is marked with a moulded-in „V" in the
scrap material.
- Cut out the openings for the slot masks and the large floo-
ding slots.
- Note: leave the central struts in place for the time being.
- Note re. the slot masks: sand the masks flat on the rever-
se side, and carefully sand away any rough edges and pro-
jecting areas (F).
- The parts are supplied oversized to provide a trimming allo-
wance.
- The masks need to be bevelled on their inside edges.
- Trim the slot masks 2.2 and 2.3 to fit and glue them in place,
applying glue both inside and outside (F).

- Position one side panel 1.12 butting up against the rear bat-
tery bulkhead, and tack the bulkheads 1.2 - 1.4 to it. Tack
the second side panel in place using the same procedure.
- Position the front and rear bulkheads 1.11 / 1.13 with refe-
rence to the openings in the side panels and glue them in
place.
- Glue the packing pieces 1.14 in place butting up against the
battery bulkhead 1.2. They should be flush with the bottom
edge.
- When you are satisfied that the parts are all positioned cor-
rectly, apply more glue to all joints to reinforce them.
- Trim the rear end of the track rail 1.15 as shown and cut it
to the correct length of 695 mm. Install the rail, align it with
the rear bulkhead at the stated dimension and glue it in
place.

- Lay the keel strip rail 2.4 in one moulding 2.1. Align it with
the front hole and glue it in place (F).
- Drill the seventeen 5 mm ø drain holes in the keel area in
both hull sections, spaced out at 30 mm intervals.
- Place the moulding on the workbench and lay the lead keel
(21.15) in it to prevent it falling over. Slide the second cent-
re section moulding under the keel strip, set it in the correct
lengthwise position relative to the front hole and glue it in
place from the inside.
- Remove the keel and apply more glue to the joint lines insi-
de and out. Sand back the centre seam along the bottom of
the keel so that the centre section does not rock. Drill a
second hole from below in the keel strip and countersink it
as shown.
- Glue the keel bulkhead 2.5 in place using Stabilit-Express.
