Installing the Release Chain (RJDC Only)
1.
Locate the Release Chain (sash chain) assembly package with S-hook.
2.
Loop either end of the S-hook onto the open end of the large spring as shown in Figure 1.
3.
Use pliers or other crimping tool to close and secure the S-hook end around the Spring loop (Figure 2).
4.
With the sash chain still in the plastic bag, attach the loose end to the S-hook (Figure 2).
5.
Remove the remaining sash chain from the plastic bag and allow to hang freely to the floor.
6.
Cut the sash chain to the desired length.

Secure the Chain Hoist (JHDC) or
Release Chain (RJDC)
1.
Fasten the Retaining Bracket 4 ft (1.2m) above the
floor. For RJDC models with manual release sash
chain, route the sash chain through the eyelet of the
Retaining Bracket.
NOTE: If the position of the operator causes the hand
chain to hang in the door opening, hook the chain to
the side near the top of the door jamb.
