Manual Release (RJDC) Handing Switch (If
Required)
1.
Take off and set aside the plastic cover that houses the manual release assembly by removing 4 securing screws.
2.
Open the operator's plastic e-box cover and disconnect the switch harness.
3.
Using 5/16" socket or Phillips screwdriver remove two screws holding hinge bracket, then slide the assembly out
(screws and subassembly needed in step 9).
4.
Remove screws shown in image below (only 2 depending on release orientation).
5.
Unplug the encoder and motor harness. Move harnesses to prevent cable pinching.
6.
Remove the eight bolts holding the gearbox to the chassis with 9/16" socket.
7.
Remove gearbox from assembly and turn 180 degrees.
8.
Re-assemble gearbox to chassis and secure with eight bolts. Leave the 4 screws on the desired release side
loosely installed.
9.
Re-install release subassembly to chassis on desired side of operator (see image for reference).
10.
Tighten all bolts for gearbox (reference torque 55-60 in-lbs).
11.
Attach and secure plastic cover with four screws. Ensure wire rope exits the plastic cover through the cover slot.
12.
Connect encoder and motor harness as shown.
NOTE: In Firmware 1.0 and newer, during commissioning on LCD wall control, select "REVERSE" option in the "MOUNT
TYPE" step to ensure proper motor rotation. If unit is already commissioned, reset to factory settings to see this option.
Disconnect handling re-orientation.
TOOLS REQUIRED:
Socket 9/16, Socket 5/16, Phillips screwdriver
STEPS:

Using Phillips screwdriver remove plastic cover by loosening up screws completely or partially until cover can
slide off (set screws and cover aside, needed in step 9)
2.
Open electronic box cover and disconnect switch harness.
3.
Using socket 5/16 or Philipps screwdriver drive remove two screws holding hinge bracket (save screws and
subassembly aside, needed in step 8). This will allow you to remove the assembly by sliding it out.
4.
Keep cover from electronics box open and remove screws shown in image below (only 2 depending on disconnect
orientation)
5.
Disconnect the encoder and motor harness, move harnesses out a way to prevent cable pinching.
6.
Remove the eight screws holding the gearbox to the chassis with 9/16 socket.
7.
Remove gearbox from assembly and turn over 180 degrees.
8.
Re-assemble gearbox to chassis by screwing in eight bolts from chassis to gear box. Leave the 4 screws on the
desired disconnect side loosely installed.
9.
Install disconnect external subassembly to chassis on desired side of operator (see image for reference).
10.
Tighten all bolts for gearbox, reference torque 55-60 in-lbs.
11.
Assemble plastic cover by screwing the four cover screws (8-32 sems) in place.
