CALIBRATION
Safety information
Calibration must be carried out on solid, level and non-slippy surface.
The vehicle must be secured against unintentionally rolling away and the handbrake must be on.
Ensure that the ground under the vehicle is clean and free from any loose objects that could impact
the cylinders extending or the vehicle itself when being raised. A clean area means a safe area!
During the calibration process, a sufficient distance must be kept from the system in order to avoid
injuries due to sudden leakage of pressurised hydraulic oil.
Do not lift the vehicle completely. If the wheels lose contact with the ground, this can lead to instability
and dangerous situations.
Functionality of the calibration process
If the sensor inadvertently moves, e.g. due to vehicle assembly vibrations, this leads to undefined
results for the end levelled position.
During the calibration process, the vehicle must not be subjected to any vibrations, otherwise incorrect
information may be received from the levelling sensor, which negatively affects the quality of the
levelling result. In particular, no installation activities should be carried out in this phase and nobody
should enter the vehicle.
As the levelling sensor compensates for temperature, it is heated in line with pre-defined operating
conditions based on the respective ambient temperature and the associated condition is saved. During
this process, a warning message is displayed on the TCU manual operating device indicating „Level-
ling sensor calibrated". This process must be completed in full; if interruptions inadvertently occur,
e.g. due to the power supply failing, the process must be repeated in its entirety.
