Storage of used oil
This deep fryer has an oil cleaning function
and a practical oil storage container 21
(see "Oil cleaning function" on page 11).
-
Contamination of the oil by frying short-
ens its shelf life. The oil cleaning func-
tion makes it easy after each frying
process to filter the oil through the inte-
grated screen which removes coarser
particles and allows the oil to then be
stored for later use.
-
During oil cleaning, the cleaned oil
flows into the oil storage container 21.
The oil can safely be stored in this tight-
ly closed container.
-
Keep the oil storage container 21 in a
dark, cool and dry place.
-
In this way the oil can be stored for sev-
eral weeks protected from light and oxy-
gen.
Getting rid of unwanted flavours
from the oil
The oil cleaning function is used to remove
solid contaminants. Some food, e.g. fish,
loses liquid during frying. This gets into the
oil and alters its smell and flavour. That fla-
vour is then passed on to the next food that
is fried in the oil.
With a simple trick, you can reduce or even
completely remove such unwanted flavours.
1. Heat the oil to a temperature of approx.
150 °C.
2. Put 2 thin slices of bread or a bit of
parsley into the frying basket 6.
3. Put the frying basket 6 into the deep fry-
er and close the lid 4.
4. Wait until the oil stops bubbling and
then remove the frying basket 6. The oil
should now have its own flavour again.

Identifying bad oil
• If you identify one of the following fea-
tures in the oil you are using, you should
replace it completely:
- pungent, bad smell;
- fried food tastes bad;
- brown, hard deposits;
- foam formation during heating;
- thick smoke formation even at low
temperatures.
What to do with the old oil?
WARNING Risk of material damage!
Frying oil must not be disposed of into
drains or the toilet! The oil or fat solidi-
fies and can block the drains.
• Oil can be disposed of in household
waste in normal household quantities.
• Do not put the oil directly into the wheel-
ie bin, but fill it after cooling into the
original packaging or for example into
a juice or milk carton.
• You can also take the oil to a designat-
ed collection point for used oil.
