5. Fit the pre-filter (19) to the other end of the suction
line* and fasten it with a hose clamp (18). Use the
Phillips screwdriver on the spark plug spanner (20)
to tighten the hose clamp (18).
Avoid sucking in foreign bodies (sand etc.). If neces-
sary, fit a pre-filter (19).
6. Disassembly takes place in reverse order.
9.2
Installation of the pressure line*
(Fig. 4)
1. Insert the hose adapter (15) into the union nut (16).
2. Insert the seal (17) into the union nut (16).
3. Screw a union nut (16) onto the pressure connection
(12) and tighten it firmly (8-10 Nm).
Make sure that the seal of (17) the union nut (16) is
in contact with the pressure connection (12).
4. To improve pump performance and reduce fluid fric-
tion, use a short, large diameter pressure line*. A
long or thin hose* increases fluid friction and reduc-
es pumping performance.
5. Attach the pressure line* to the hose adapter (15) of
the pressure line* with a hose clamp (18). Tighten
the hose clamp (18) firmly with the Phillips screw-
driver on the spark plug wrench (20) to prevent the
pressure line* from slipping off the hose adapter
(15) under pressure.
6. Disassembly takes place in reverse order.
9.3
Priming the product with water
(Fig. 5)
Note:
Dry operation of the pump will cause damage to the
pump seals. If the pump runs dry, switch off the engine
immediately and let the pump cool down before priming
with water.
Note:
If the pump is removed after use, it is essential to fill up
with water again when it is reconnected and put into op-
eration.
1. Before starting the engine, remove the water filling
plug (1) from the pump chamber and fill the pump
chamber with water.
2. Screw in the water filling plug (1) again and tighten
it firmly.
Note:
Filling the suction line with water is not necessary!
9.4
Check the level of the fuel/oil
mixture (Fig. 6)
DANGER
Risk of fire and explosion!
When filling, fuel may ignite and even explode. This
can lead to severe burns or death.
• Switch off the engine and let it cool down.
• Always use fresh fuel/oil mixture.
• Keep heat, flames and sparks away.
• Only fill up with fuel outdoors.
• Wear protective gloves.
• Avoid contact with skin and eyes.
• Start the product at a distance of at least 3 m from
the fuel filling point.
• Watch out for leaks. If fuel is leaking, do not start the
engine.
• Use a suitable funnel or filler pipe for refuelling so
that no fuel can spill onto the combustion engine
and housing.
Do not overfill the fuel tank!
1. Check the fuel level.
– The fuel level must be between MAX and MIN.
2. Add fuel if the fuel level is too low.
– Pay attention to the correct mixing ratio!
3. Unscrew the fuel filler cap (7). The fuel filler cap (7)
is connected to an anti-loss device in the fuel tank
(6) and thus cannot fall off.
9.4.1
Filling up fuel/oil mixture
Fuel and 2-stroke oil
Special 2-stroke oil for air-cooled 2-stroke engines with
a mixing ratio of 1:40 must be used.
WARNING
Do not use fuel that has not been correctly mixed with
2-stroke oil. This may cause permanent engine dam-
age and will void the manufacturer's warranty on this
product. Never use a fuel mixture that has been stored
for more than 90 days.
9.4.1.1
Fuel mixture
Do not mix the fuel mixture in the tank.
Add the 2-stroke oil in accordance with the fuel mixture
table.
