Air adjustment damper
Flame control system and Ignition system
Flame control equipment
The flame control equipment is used to monitor the
state of the flame inside the combustion chamber
through a photocell that continually reads the flame it
gives off. This part is basically the brain of the machine
and takes care of establishing if, first during the ignition
phase and then during operation, all the conditions are
respected so that the machine operates without any
problem.
The operations it carries out are basically the following:
1.
It cleans the combustion chamber from any fuel vapour that may have been generated, for example,
from a previous non-ignition during a start-up phase. This operation is carried out with a pre-ventilation
period of approximately ten seconds. During this period the fuel solenoid valve is closed and therefore
there must be no flame. The photocell reads the brightness of the flame, and if this value exceeds the
limit value for the photocell, the heater is blocked and the machine stops working.
NB: Sometimes, if the machine is outside and
subject to direct sunlight, it may happen that a ray of
light reaches the photocell and therefore causes it to
fail the ignition phase. In this case, cover the front
part of the machine or position the heater in a
shaded area and repeat the ignition procedure.
2. If the photocell notices a complete absence of a flame, the flame control equipment gives consent to
open the fuel solenoid valve. At this point, if stable flame conditions are maintained, the machine will
continue to operate, otherwise the equipment will trip and must be reset manually by pressing the
specific reset button on the control panel.
On the side it shows the mechanism adjusting air entering the combustion
chamber. The opening is determined by the damper (marked in the figure
with letter A), which must have very precise value depending on the type of
heater and conditions of use. Incorrect air adjustment causes poor
combustion quality and a series of other collateral damages.
