6. Prohibited uses

The following are strictly prohibited:
• Installing or using davitrac without proper permission,
training and accreditation or, failing that, without the
supervision of an authorised, trained and accredited
supervisor.
• Using davitrac if any of the markings are illegible.
• Installing or using davitrac without first verifying it
thoroughly.
• Using davitrac if it has not undergone a periodic
inspection within the past 12 months by a technician
who has permitted its reuse in writing.
• Connecting a fall arrest system if any of its
components has not undergone a periodic inspection
within the past 12 months by a technician who has
permitted its reuse in writing.
• Using a Tractel
fall arrest anchor device for any
®
application other than those described in this manual.
• Using davitrac in contradiction with the information
specified in the section "12. Service life".
• Using this equipment as a fall arrest anchor device for
more than 2 operators.
• Connecting more than 1 operator to each anchor ring,
within the limit of 2 operators per base.
• Using davitrac if the weight of the operator, including
equipment and tools, exceeds 150 kg.
• Using davitrac with a load ranging from 100 kg to
150 kg (total weight of the operator, equipment and
tools) if any component in the fall arrest system has a
lower safe working weight.
• Using davitrac if it has arrested a fall.
• Using davitrac in a highly corrosive or explosive
atmosphere.
• Using a Tractel
fall arrest anchor point as an
®
anchoring device for a load lifting device.
• Using a Tractel
load lifting anchor point as a fall
®
arrest anchor point.
• Using davitrac outside the temperature range of
-35°C to +60°C.
• Using davitrac if the vertical clearance is inadequate
in the event of a fall.
• Using davitrac if you are not in good physical
condition.
• Using davitrac if you are pregnant.
• Using davitrac if the safety function of any of the
associated items is affected by the safety function of
another item or may interfere with it.
• Performing any repairs or maintenance of davitrac
without first having been trained and approved in
writing by Tractel
.
®
• Using davitrac if it is not complete, if it has been
dismantled beforehand or if components have been
replaced by any party not approved by Tractel
• Attaching davitrac by any means other than as
described in this manual.
• Securing davitrac to a bearing structure with a
strength kNown to be or possibly below 16 kN.
• Using davitrac simultaneously as a fall arrest anchor
point in accordance with EN 795:2012 and as a load
lifting anchor point in accordance with Machinery
Directive 2006/42/EC.
• Using davitrac with anchor brackets not approved by
Tractel SAS.
• Using bases not approved by Tractel SAS.
• Using davitrac with more than two anchor brackets
simultaneously.
• Using davitrac in the fall arrest configuration if the
space below the anchor device is incompatible with
the vertical clearance of the fall arrest system used or
if an obstacle is located in the fall path.
• Using davitrac if a rescue plan has not been put in
place beforehand in the event of a fall by the operator.
• Installing a Tractel
structure with a mechanical breaking strength below
16 kN vertically and horizontally. This load may
be applied vertically with a maximum lever arm of
700 mm.

7. Associated equipment

• Fall arrest (EN 363).
• Fall protection (EN 353-2 – EN 355 – EN 360).
• Connector (EN 362).
• Full body harness (EN 361).
• Rescue lifting device EN 1496 A or B.
• Anchoring bracket (EN 795).
• Evacuation device (EN 341).
Before using a fall arrest system, carry out the
regulatory checks in accordance with their specific
instructions for use
• Load lifting system SWL max. 500 kg in accordance
with Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC.
• Tractel
anchor bracket 500 kg in accordance with
®
Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC.
Before using a lifting system, refer to the specific
manuals of those products.

8. Transport and storage

For associated systems, please refer to the specific
manuals of the associated products.
During storage and/or transport, the product must be:
• Stored at a temperature between -35°C and 60°C
• Protected from chemical, mechanical or any other
type of attack.
