Replace fuel filters
CARTRIDGE TYPE
(a) Remove filter cartridge (A Fig.36) and discard.
(b) Apply fuel oil thinly over gasket and tighten the
cartridge into position hand tight.
IN-LINE TYPE

Release clamp bands either side of the in-
line filter (B Fig.36) and remove fuel pipes.

Fit new in-line filter to fuel pipes and replace
clamp bands.

Battery
Check condition of terminals and electrolite level.
Top up as necessary with distilled water
The battery (A Fig.38)is situated under the seat, to
gain access release the seat plate catch (A Fig.37)
and pivot the seat forward and support with the fitted
stay .
Generally check that all nuts, bolts and hydraulic
fittings are tight and retighten where necessary.

Check Belt tensions
Before carrying out any belt adjustments remove the
starter key to prevent the engine from starting (see
