The rear of the footpedal should be depressed
gently to obtain reverse motion of the machine.
NOTE: Always use toe to operate both forward and
reverse motion. DO NOT move footpedal violently
from forward to reverse or vice versa. Always
operate slowly and smoothly.
Reverse drive can only be obtained when the
hydraulic cylinder drive lever (B fig 6) is moved out
of the neutral position.

The cutting units should be restrained in the raised
position with the safety catches.
1. Start the engine and set the throttle lever to full
speed position.
2. Release the parking brake and after ensuring
that the forward/reverse cutting cylinder
drive control lever is in the transport
position, depress the upper pad of the
footpedal. The machine will then move
forward.
NOTE: The foot should always be kept firmly on the
pedal. To relax the foot a jerky motion will result.
3. Continue to push down on the foot until the
desired speed of the machine is reached.

1. Select the desired cylinder speed. To cut
longer grass particularly at higher heights of cut
reduce the cylinder speed. Lower cylinder
speeds will produce a more efficient cut in
longer grass conditions. In short grass
conditions maximum cylinder speed may be
used to give a finer cut if required.
2. Start the engine and set the throttle control
lever to the full operating speed position.
3. After first checking that the safety catches
have been released lower the cutting units
to the ground.
4. Engage the cutting cylinder drive by moving the
lever downwards.
5. Depress the mow foot pedal to start the
cylinders rotating
6. Release the parking brake and gently press
down on the upper pad of the footpedal for
forward motion. The foot should always be kept
firmly on the pedal. To relax the foot a jerky
motion will result.
