Flap System

The DX18 flap system supports programming:
• Norm or Normal
• Mid: only available when using the three-position flap switch
• Land or Landing
• Flap
• Elevator
Assign a switch to enable a specific flap setting during flight.
Change Speed value to slow flap travel for a scale effect on your
model.
ACRO Mixing
Rudder to Aileron/Elevator
Use Rudder to Aileron/Elevator to correct coupling in knife edge
flight. During knife edge flight, if the model pitches towards the
bottom of the aircraft, add up elevator while maintaining rudder
input to correct. Aileron can also be added if the aircraft typically
rolls one way or the other in knife edge.

Acro Gyro Function

In Acro mode two gyro screens are available (Gyro 1 and Gyro
2). Gyro functions are used to adjust Gyro gain and allow up to
4 programmable curves to be selected via a switch, knob or
stick position. Up to 7 points can be programmed at the desired
position on each curve. This provides tremendous flexibility in
controlling the gyro gain allowing programming stick preferential
gain curves (the gyro gain is decreased as the control stick is
displaced from center.)
Note that if Pitch Curve is activated only one Gyro function is
available.

Pitch Curve Function

In Acro mode a Pitch Curve screen is available that allows a
variable pitch propeller to be used. Up to 4 programmable
curves are available that can be selected via a switch, knob or
stick position. Up to 7 points can be programmed at the desired
position on each curve. Note that the Pitch curve is driven by the
throttle stick position.

Unless flaps are enabled in the Wing Type Screen, the flap
system is inhibited (INH). See Aircraft Type Screen for available
flap setup choices.
Aileron to Rudder
Use Aileron to Rudder mixing to overcome adverse yaw
characteristics with certain types of aircraft such as a J3 Cub
and make coordinating turns easier.
Elevator to Flap
Use Elevator to Flap mixing to have the flaps move with elevator
stick movement. This can be used for Spoilerons for 3D aircraft,
or to input flaps or spoilers with elevator input.
To access the Gyro screen
1. In the System Setup List Highlight Aircraft Type
2. In the Aircraft Type Screen, select NEXT at the bottom right
of the screen. This will access the Aircraft Options screen.
Activate the desired Gyro function(s). When the gyro function
is activated the Gyro function will appear in the Function
List.
To access the Pitch Curve screen
1. In the System Setup List Highlight Aircraft Type
2. In the Aircraft Type Screen, select NEXT at the bottom right
of the screen. This will access the Aircraft Options screen.
Activate the Pitch Curve function. When the Pitch Curve
function is activated, the Pitch Curve function appears in the
Function List.
