Turning the system on
Press POWER 6 STANDBY/ON (POWER on the remote
control).
Alternatively, press BAND on the Stereo Tuner or c on the
Compact Disc Player. Playback will start automatically if a
disc is loaded.
Turning the system off
Press POWER 6STANDBY/ON again.
The system goes into standby.

Turn VOLUME/MULTI JOG (VOL

Adjust from 0 (minimum) to 30 and MAX (maximum).

Tip:
Volume level setting is retained during power-off standby. If
the system is turned off with the volume set to 22 or more, it
is automatically turned down to 21 the next time the system is
turned on.
DEMO
If the clock has not been set, a DEMO appears on the display
when the system is turned off.
To deactivate the DEMO
Press DEMO/RDS. The clock flashes. For setting the clock,
see page 10.

ECO mode
The system allows you to regulate its power consumption by
displaying nothing on the display while the power is off. This is
called the power economizing mode.
1 Turn the system on.
2 Press ECO repeatedly to turn on or off the ECO
mode.
"ECO ON": to turn on the ECO mode
"ECO OFF": to turn off the ECO mode
Alternatively, turn VOLUME/MULTI JOG to turn on or off
the ECO mode.
3 Press ENTER/ILLUMINATION.
When the power economizing mode is activated
Each time the system is turned off, "Eco Mode" is displayed
for 4 seconds, and everything on the display will clear.
Only the red indicator on the POWER button lights to show
that power is being supplied to the system.
Standby power consumption
When the power economizing mode is activated: 1.7W
When the power economizing mode is deactivated: 12 W
