Digital recording

Synchronized digital recording of a CD onto an MD can be
done either at normal or double speed.
1 Insert a recordable MD.
Insert a disc fully into the disc insertion slot with the label
side up and in the direction of the arrow.

2 Turn FUNCTION to select the CD function and
insert a CD to be recorded.

3 Press MD MODE (or hold down SHIFT and press
MD MODE on the remote control).
"Auto GROUP?" is displayed.
4 Within 8 seconds, press ENTER/ILLUMINATION
(or ENTER/ILLUMI on the remote control).
5 Turn VOLUME/MULTI JOG to turn the auto
grouping mode on or off.
"Auto GRP ON": turns on the auto grouping mode. A
group corresponding to the CD will automatically be
created.
"Auto GRPoFF": turns off the auto grouping mode.
No group will be created.
6 Press ENTER/ILLUMINATION (ENTER/ILLUMI).
7 Press REC MODE repeatedly to select the
recording mode.
"RecSTEREO": standard length stereo recording mode
"Rec LP2": two times longer stereo recording
"Rec LP4": four times longer stereo recording
8 To record at normal speed, press CDl MD
MD/GROUP
NORMAL.

The selected recording mode and "CD>MDdirect" are
ENTER/
displayed.
ILLUMI
To record at double speed, press CDlMD HIGH.

The selected recording mode followed by "x2" and

9 Press a to start recording.
Recording stops automatically when the last track on the CD
finishes playing.
When recording stops, "WRITING" is displayed and the
contents (TOC) of the recording are recorded on the MD.
When the auto grouping mode is turned off at step 5, the
recorded tracks belong to no group, since no group has been
created.
To stop recording
Press s.
To stop play of the CD, press s again.
Note
While "WRITING" is displayed, do not disconnect the AC
cord or give a strong shock to the system. Otherwise, the
recorded contents on a disc will not be able to be played.
