Analogue recording
Recording through analogue inputs from the tuner, cassette
tape*, CD, or external equipment connected to the AUX IN
jacks or AUX DIGITAL IN jack can be made easily.
Also you can select monaural recording.
* Available only when the FX-LM918 optional Stereo Cassette
Deck is connected.
1 Insert a recordable MD.
2 Turn FUNCTION to select the source to be
recorded.
3 Prepare the source to be recorded.
To record a radio broadcast, tune in a desired station.
To record from a CD, insert the disc.
To record from a tape, insert the tape.
To record from connected equipment, prepare the
equipment for playback.
4 Press MD MODE (or hold down SHIFT and press
MD MODE on the remote control).
"Auto GROUP?" is displayed.
5 Within 8 seconds, press ENTER/ILLUMINATION
(or ENTER/ILLUMI on the remote control).
6 Turn VOLUME/MULTI JOG to turn the auto
grouping mode on or off.
"Auto GRP ON": turns on the auto grouping mode.
Contents from the beginning to the end of the recording
session will make a group.
"Auto GRPoFF": turns off the auto grouping mode.
No group will be created.
7 Press ENTER/ILLUMINATION (ENTER/ILLUMI).
8 Press MD MODE twice (or hold down SHIFT and
press MD MODE twice on the remote control).
"Mark MODE ?" is displayed.
9 Within 8 seconds, press ENTER/ILLUMINATION
(ENTER/ILLUMI).
10 Turn VOLUME/MULTI JOG to select an index mark
mode.
To register index marks automatically at the beginning of
each track, select "Mark:AUTO ?".
To register index marks every 5 minutes, select
"Mark:TIME ?".
To record without registering index marks automatically,
select "Mark: OFF ?".
11 Press ENTER/ILLUMINATION (ENTER/ILLUMI).
12 Press REC MODE (or MD REC (ANALOG) on the
remote control) repeatedly to select the recording
mode.
"RecSTEREO": standard length stereo recording mode
"Rec LP2": two times longer stereo recording
"Rec LP4": four times longer stereo recording
"Rec MONO": monaural recording
13 Press MD EDIT/REC.
Alternatively, within 4 seconds, press w on the remote
control.
The selected recording mode and "MD REC" are
displayed.
14 Press a to start recording.
When recording from connected equipment, start playback
of the connected equipment.
To stop recording
Press s.
To add index marks during recording
Press ENTER/ILLUMINATION (ENTER/ILLUMI).
Tips:
•Using the monaural recording mode, you can record twice
as long as the time printed on the MD.
•When recording from a CD to an MD is made using analogue
recording, CD digital signals are once converted to analogue
signals, and the converted signals are recorded on an MD
in digital form.
