Each time the motorcycle instrument panel is
switched on, the system takes more time or less time
(depending on traffic) to detect the direction of
traffic. As a result, assisted overtaking may not be
available during several minutes when first riding the
motorcycle. Moreover, the assisted overtaking may
not be available in case of heavy traffic in the
opposite direction.
This feature (assisted overtaking) helps the rider but
in no way relieves him or her of his or her
responsibility to constantly monitor the motorcycle
and the road, assess road conditions, environmental
conditions, and conditions all around. Due to the
operating limits of the radar, the detection of the
road type may not always be correct, so there may be
instances where the assisted overtaking system
does not behave as expected.
