USING THE HANDPIECE
• An optional cover may be used if necessary. The following are the only covers approved for
use:
a. Civco CIVFlex Cover P/N 610-006 (Sterile)
Civco CIVFlex Cover P/N 610-007 (Non-Sterile)
b.
• Apply the cover to the SCOUT Check Handpiece. DO NOT use any gels or lubricants.
• Apply the SCOUT Check Handpiece tip to skin or soft tissue.
• Ensure that no air gaps are present between the SCOUT Check Handpiece tip and tissue (assure
there is no air gap when using a cover).
• When the SCOUT Check Handpiece detects the SCOUT Reflector, the SCOUT Check Console
will emit an audible feedback, confirming that the SCOUT Reflector has been deployed and is
detectable.
REMOVING THE HANDPIECE
• Once the procedure is complete, shut down the SCOUT Check Console (reference the Operation
Manual for instructions).
• Remove the SCOUT Check Handpiece by pulling the connector straight out of the SCOUT Check
Console while holding the SCOUT Check Console still.
• Clean and disinfect the handpiece.

These instructions for the SCOUT Check Handpiece are NOT meant to define or suggest any
medical or surgical technique. The individual physician is responsible for the proper procedure
and techniques to be used with this product.
STORAGE
• Store at -20o to 60º C (-40º to 104º F), 10% to 95% relative humidity, non-condensing.
