Buccal registration
A buccal registration can be used to establish contact with the
antagonist.
ü The jaw with the preparation is scanned.
1. Scan the occlusal, buccal and lingual view of the antagonist (see
the section "Occlusal scan [→ 44]", "Buccal scan [→ 44]" and
"Lingual scan [→ 45]").
2. Perform a buccal scan of the bite block prior to completing the
registration. This buccal scan should be carried out close-up to the
preparation. To acquire sufficient geometry, capture the teeth of the
upper and lower jaw as well as 5 mm of the respective gingival
areas.
7.4.6
Scan procedure for the color analysis
Do not guide the Omnicam exclusively at the same distance to the tooth
when carrying out the color analysis.
Vary the distance to the tooth for the scan of the buccal surface of the
tooth for which you wish to carry out a color analysis of the buccal
surface.
Ensure that you avoid reflections (highlights) on the buccal surface by
tilting the Omnicam slightly during the scanning process.
