Functions of the ETS 3000
The ETS 3000 is available in two versions: with an integral sensor probe and with an
external sensor probe.
The ETS 3000 features the following functions:
• Display of the actual temperature measured in °C or °F
• Display of the lowest value, peak value or a set switching point
• Switching of the switching outputs in accordance with the temperature and the pre-set
switching parameters
• Analogue output: current or voltage mode available
• Basic settings menu (for adapting the ETS 3000 to the particular application)
• Two different types of programming enable

Installation
The ETS 3000 with the integral sensor probe can be screwed directly into a hydraulic block
via the male thread G1/2 A ISO 1179-2. The temperature sensor is built into the stem before
the thread. To obtain an accurate temperature reading this stem must be immersed in the
flow of fluid.
The ETS 3000 with separate sensor probe is wall-mounted using the clamp which is
available as an accessory (see section 14.2 Mechanical Accessories).
To ensure optimum positioning, the unit can be rotated about its long axis through 340° and
the display and keypad through 270°.
Electrical connection must be carried out by a properly qualified electrician in accordance
with relevant national regulations (VDE 0100 in Germany). At the same time, the
temperature sensor housing must be correctly earthed. When fitted into a hydraulic block, it
is sufficient if the block is earthed via the hydraulic system. In the case of wall-mounting the
unit, the housing must be earthed separately.
Warning:
When installing the ETS 3000 with an integral sensor probe, a suitable spanner (AF 27)
must be used on the hexagonal nut of the pressure port.
Do not install the ETS 3000 by gripping the housing, as this would damage the housing or
the entire unit. The ETS 3000 is designed to rotate for positioning purposes.
Additional installation tips which have been shown to reduce the effect of electromagnetic
interference:
• Keep leads as short as possible.
• Use screened cabling (e.g. LIYCY 4 x 0.5 mm²).
• The cable screening must be fitted by qualified personnel subject to the ambient
conditions for the purpose of suppressing interference.
• Wherever possible, keep the unit well away from the electrical supply lines of power
equipment, as well as from any electrical or electronic equipment causing interference.
