Functions of the EDS 3000

depending on the model, the unit offers the following functions:
 measuring value indication of the actual pressure in PSI, MPa, bar or in a
scale defined by the user.
 display of the maximum value or of a pre-set switching point.

 switching of the switching outputs according to the pressure and the pre-set
switching parameters.
 analogue output.
 menu for basic settings (adapting the eds 3000 to the particular application).
 programming enable.

1.1. eXclusion of liability

this operating manual was made to the best of our knowledge. nevertheless
and despite the greatest care, it cannot be excluded that mistakes could have
crept in. therefore please understand that in the absence of any provisions
to the contrary hereinafter our warranty and liability – for any legal reasons
whatsoever – are excluded in respect of the information in this operating
manual. In particular, we shall not be liable for lost profit or other financial
loss. this exclusion of liability does not apply in cases of intent and gross
negligence. moreover, it does not apply to defects which have been deceitfully
concealed or whose absence has been guaranteed, nor in cases of culpable
harm to life, physical injury and damage to health. if we negligently breach
any material contractual obligation, our liability shall be limited to foreseeable
damage. claims due to the product liability shall remain unaffected.
in the event of translation, only the original version of the operating manual in
german is legally valid.

Mounting

the eds 3000 can be mounted directly onto a hydraulic block via the pressure
connection, or indirectly using a hose or minimess line (for torque values,
see Point 10 - Technical specifications). The unit can be turned through 340°
around its longitudinal axis for optimum alignment. the display and key-pad
can also be turned through 270°.
The electrical connection must be carried out by a qualified electrician
according to the relevant regulations of the country concerned. (vde 0100 in
germany). the pressure switch housing must be earthed correctly at the same
time. When fitting the switch into a hydraulic block it is sufficient if the block is
earthed via the hydraulic system. in the case of a minimess hose-mounting, the
housing must be earthed separately (e.g. screened line).

the eds 3000 must be screwed in using a suitable spanner via the pressure
connection.
If the EDS 3000 is not fitted correctly, e.g. if the housing is turned manually, the
housing could be damaged, or made completely inoperable, due to the swivel
function of the eds 3000.
additional assembly notes which, from experience, reduce the effect of
electromagnetic interference:
 make screened connections as short as possible.
 use screened lines (e.g. liycy 4 x 0.5 mm²).
 The cable screening must be fitted by qualified personnel subject to the
ambient conditions and with the aim of suppressing interference.
 direct proximity to connecting lines of user units or electrical or electronic
units causing interference must be avoided as far as possible.
