b) "Motion Detection" function
When this function is enabled, the monitor/DVR only starts a recording when movement is detected. There are three
sensitivity settings for motion detection.
Unlike a PIR sensor that detects movement by monitoring changes in temperature, the camera detects
movement by detecting changes in the image content.
• When you select this option, the display will show the sensitivity settings for each wireless camera. It also indicates
whether motion detection is enabled.
• Use the touchscreen or the arrow buttons ("

- Sensitivity settings for motion detection (3 different settings, a higher sensitivity means that less movement is
required to trigger a video recording)
- Enable/disable motion detection (when enabled, the monitor/DVR will display the camera image when the image
content changes, e.g. when someone walks in front of the camera)
- Configure the length of a recording when movement is detected
- Select the area of the image used for motion detection
You can only select an area of the image when a wireless camera is connected to the corresponding chan-
nel.
After selecting this option, use the touchscreen (or the "
button (28)) on the IR remote control to display the camera
image (in 8 x 6 sections, see right-hand image).

Important:

• In this mode, the monitor/DVR will only record video when motion detection is enabled (see above).
• Do not set the sensitivity too high, as very small movements (e.g. foliage on a tree) may trigger a video recording.
