arrest device). The user's safety depends on maintaining the
efficiency and strength of the equipment. The lifeline and its
components must remain clean and free from harmful matter
(paint, building waste, rubble, etc.).
The lifeline and fall arrest device must be cleaned using soap
and clear water.
The equipment must be transported in such a way to ensure that
it will not be subjected to any damage due to shocks / dropping
/ attack by environment (acid ...).
The equipment should be stored in a clean, dry room to ensure
that it will not be damaged by environmental attacks or stresses
GB
(humidity / acid / shock / UV ...).
In particular, check that all the markings on all the components
of the lifeline are clearly legible.
Furthermore, the safety harness should be regularly checked by
a competent person in accordance with the regulations and the
EN 361 standard.
This inspection must be carried out at least once every
12 months, with the result registered with the health and safety
department of the user company.
Depending on how frequently the system is used, the
environmental conditions and the regulations applicable within
the company or country of use, the periodic checks may be
required more frequently.
It is recommended that a record book is established containing
the prior study reference No., the lifeline's composition,
inspections performed, any fall that has occurred in which the
lifeline came into operation, returning to good order or repairs
carried out, as well as any modifications that have been made
to the lifeline. Incidentally, each PPE should be allocated its
own identification sheet in compliance with the EN 365
Standard.
When any point on a stopcable™ lifeline has been put under
strain by a user falling, the entire lifeline, and more especially the
anchors, seals and securing points located in the fall zone, as well
as any PPE involved in the fall, MUST always be checked by an
appropriately qualified person before being put back into service.
