5.2 Safety equipment
• Emergency stop magnetic pin
Removal of the emergency stop magnetic pin causes the motor to shut off immediately.
The cord from the emergency stop magnetic pin must always be placed around the
driver's wrist so that the motor shuts off if the driver falls overboard.
• Electronic throttle control
The electronic control system prevents the motor from starting if the throttle is not
in neutral during a system start. Move the lever to neutral to start.
5.3 Maintenance information
Use only a soft cloth and mild detergents that are compatible with plastic materials
(e.g. washing-up liquid) for cleaning. Do not use any chemicals or solvents.
Always cover the display with the display protective cover when the throttle is not in use.
6. Installation and assembly
6.1 Assembly
- Always mount the throttle in the boat's direction of travel.
- Do not mount near the compass. The throttle has a magnet that could
disrupt the compass.
- Ensure there is adequate space for the lever movements when fitting.
- Do not mount the throttle near sources of magnetic interference.
- Observe the minimum bending radius of the TorqLink cable of 40 mm.
- Mount the components in dry conditions only.
20
Mount the throttle using the fixing points provided in a suitable position on
the boat and complete the following assembly steps:
- Release the four screws on the top of the throttle (3) and remove the mounting
plate underneath.
- Drill the holes required to fit the throttle – the mounting plate serves as a template.
See Figure (F) on page 2 in this connection.
• Standard hole pattern for M5 screws (11)
• Standard hole pattern for ¼" screws (12)
• Hole pattern as for earlier model, 1918-00 (13)
• Alternative cable opening (15)
- Fix the mounting plate firmly to the boat with at least two screws.
- Position the throttle on the mounting plate and feed the TorqLink cable
through in the required position.
- Fit the throttle to the mounting plate with the four screws on the top of the housing (3)
(torque 1.5 Nm ± 0.5).
- Ensure that your Torqeedo system is switched off, then connect the cable to
the TorqLink network.
6.2 Connection to the overall system
The throttle must always be connected to one end of the TorqLink backbone and
the motor to the other, as the terminations are located in these two components.
All other components are integrated into the backbone via spurs (T-cables).
