5. Important information
5.1 Safety instructions
Always follow all of the instructions in this document before putting
the throttle into operation! Failure to follow these instructions and
improper use of the throttle can cause danger to life and limb for the
user or third parties and lead to extensive damage. Intended use comprises only
use with an electric drive system from Torqeedo on vessels in the water and other
applications expressly authorised by Torqeedo. Torqeedo cannot accept liability for
damage caused by actions that contravene these operating instructions. Local safety
and accident prevention regulations must also be observed when operating the
remote throttle.
Only appropriately qualified persons who have the necessary physical and mental
capacities are permitted to use the throttle. Before use, instruction must be provided
in the operation and safety instructions of the throttle and system.
Check the condition and all functions of the throttle and the system
(including the emergency stop) at low power before every journey. Familiarise
yourself with all of the throttle controls. Above all, you must be able to stop the
system quickly when necessary.
If batteries made by other manufacturers are used, the "Battery charge status",
"Range" and "Remaining travel time" displays will not be accurate and will depend
on the batteries used and the battery parameters set. In this case, the displays
mentioned above must not be used for navigational purposes!
