The exclusive use of original replacement parts and components intended by
Torqeedo for this product.
The use of a Torqeedo zinc anode (item no.: 1939-00) if the motor is used in salt
water.
Charging using a solar panel
The battery can also be charged using a solar panel from the Torqeedo accessories
range or using solar panels from other manufacturers. Batteries from 2015 or later
(serial number starts with 15 or higher) provide this option. The panel's open-circuit
voltage should be between 15 and 50 V, and power up to 150 W peak is suitable.
4.2.2

Foreseeable misuse

Use other than, or going beyond, that defined in Chapter 4.2.1, "Intended use"
is deemed to be unintended use. The operator bears the sole responsibility for
damage arising from unintended use, and the manufacturer accepts no liability
whatsoever.
Amongst others, the following are deemed to be unintended use:
Operation of the propeller out of the water.
Use of the Travel system outside of marine craft.
Any modification to the product.

using your mobile devices.
Check the status and all functions of the Travel system (including Emergency
Stop) at low power before every trip; see section "Service intervals" in the digital
operating manual.
In the event of motor malfunctions, an error code appears on the display. After
the error has been eliminated, the motor can be continued to be driven from the
neutral position in most cases. See descriptions and details in Chapter 9, "Error
messages".
Protect the battery from mechanical damage. In the event of damage to the
battery housing, do not use or charge the battery any more.
To prevent damage to the electronics, the motor unit must be taken out of
the water if the boat is powered by other means (towing, sailing, using other
motors).
Note that the motor automatically reduces its speed at full throttle at high
ambient temperatures, to prevent the battery from overheating. This is indicated
by a flashing thermometer symbol on the display (overheat protection mode).
The shaft seals which seal the motor to the gear shaft may be damaged if the
motor is operated out of the water for longer periods of time. There is danger of
overheating the motor.
