5 Functional description

The AutoGuide Plus system is designed for installation in welding systems, e.g. welding portals.
Various adjustable weld seam geometries are scanned by the laser sensor. The system then automatically makes adjustments
for weld joint deviations in the vertical and horizontal axes.
An adjustable look ahead compensation function ensures that the torch is always in the optimal position above the weld joint.
The welding head itself is not included in the scope of supply. It uses laser scanning to detect deviations in the welded seam
lines, which can arise due to tolerances or thermal distortion.
The system can be used for the following processes, depending on the load class: MIG/MAG welding, TIG welding,
submerged arc welding.
Once the data has been analyzed and processed, the software automatically guides the welding torch along the actual line
of the components to be connected by welding. This is done using a cross slide with two linear axes on which the welding
torch is mounted.
Optionally, a cut-off device for the welding system can be mounted, which prevents serious damage if the welding torch and
component collide.
