Fault
Loud noises when it rains or hails
One-off or repetitive impulse noi-
ses at regular or irregular intervals.
Avoid differently large gaps bet-
ween the louvre profiles when the
construction is closed
Malfunctions - FAQ (sun protection)
en
The front profile is hanging too low
out of the frame profile
Wedge-shaped gap between the
post and guide rail above the post
base faceplate
The front profile no longer extends
any further and jams in the guide
rails
Squeaking, rattling or compara-ble
noises when retracting or exten-
ding
Front profile makes contact with
the revision profile or frame profile
when being retracted
Wrinkling in the fabric
Fir tree-like wrinkling in the fabric
"Stress whitening" in the fabric
The front profile bows consider-
ably under load when extended
and under windy conditions
The vertical sun protection no lon-
ger moves and/or the front profile
and fabric is/are dam-aged after
the vertical sun pro-tection has
been driven onto an obstacle.
Front profile moves unevenly into
the frame profile and deep-er into
the centre.

Directions for use
Cause
– Aluminium profiles and hollow louvre pro-
files result in increased noise gen-eration
– Impulse noises arise if different mate-rials
integrated expand differently when tempe-
ratures change.
– Strong breeze
– Standard production tolerances (the gaps
may vary 1 to 3 mm widthways)
– The fabric has stretched
– Due to the construction, the gap can be
up to 1.5 mm in order to guarantee height
adjustment of the posts
– The construction is extended when the
wind is too strong.
– The fabric guide profile is soiled or foreign
bodies are in the gap
– Deformation of the fabric guide profile due
to thermal influences
– Fabric guide profile is bent or the opening
gap is too small for the fabric
– Fabric guide profile or fabric soiled in the
zip area
– Front profile is bent (e.g. due to use when
the wind is too strong or as a result of
other mechanical influences)
– Retraction when the wind effect is too
strong
For very large widths > 5 m and projec-
tions > 2 m, the fabric tends to form
wrinkles when retracted (causes in-clude
wet fabric, too much bowing of the frame
profile under load)
– Too much bowing under load of the frame
profile via burden on the roof (snow, wind,
...)
– Stress whitening occurs in the seam area
due to friction when the fabric is wound.
– Under windy conditions, the front profile
can sag (at 6 Beaufort for ex-ample with 5
m width some 250 mm)
– The vertical sun protection has been
opened on placed items. (Note: no items
may be placed within the range of the
construction's movement. weinor shall not
be liable in such cas-es.)
– Due to the construction, the fabric can
insert up to 10 mm deeper into the frame
profile than at the sides.

Remedy
• Due to the construction, noise generation cannot be avoided!
• Cannot be remedied as the expansion cannot be averted!
Close the louvres completely!
• Not necessary!
• Re-set the motor's upper end position
• Not necessary!
• Stop extension and continue extension when there is less wind
or retract the construction!
Clean the corresponding parts (guide rail with fabric guide
profile, fabric)!
• Operate the construction within the recommended tem-perature
range!
• Replace the fabric guide profiles (weinor partners)!
• Clean the fabric guide profile and fabric!
• New front profile or correcting the front profile (weinor part-
ners)!
• Do not retract if the wind is too strong!
Wrinkling can only be removed to a certain extent!
• Observe the operating conditions for the vertical sun protection!
Rectifying bowing under load!
• Observe the operating conditions for the vertical sun protection!
• Cannot be remedied!
• The stress whitening effect is material-caused and is not an
installation error or product fault!
• Stress whitening occurs regardless of the roller tube version.
Fabrics with strong and dark colours are more prone to this.
• Up to the specified, permissible wind speed for use, no measures
are necessary!
• After the load is reduced, the front profile is moved back to its
old position!
Caution: Do not retract or extend the vertical sun protec-tion
when the front profile is sagging!
• Switch the construction off and contact a specialist company!
The specialist company must remove the obstruction, pull the
fabric tight again, check the construction and retract the fabric
without wrinkles with open faceplate whilst observing wrinkle-
free winding!
• No rectification possible/required as this cannot be avoid-ed due
to the construction.
