Servicing, maintenance and repairs
General information
Please
pay
special
information.
Regular maintenance is an essential part of ensuring
that your scarifier keeps working properly.
The scarifier shaft in particular and the drive
components require careful maintenance in order to
prevent damage or even accidents.
Before starting any
maintenance work:
- Disconnect the spark plug
cap.
- Position the machine in a
stable position.
- Wait until the engine has
cooled off.
Scarifier shaft
In order to gain access to the scarifier shaft, you will
need to:
- Lift up the scarifier by the handle and tip it over the
front wheels.
- Secure the scarifier in this position so that it cannot
roll away.
- Visually inspect the tines and tine shafts regularly
after every use and check them for wear and
damage.
If necessary, have the tines and/or the tine shaft
replaced by a specialist authorised workshop.
(Fig. 20 )
Regularly lubricate the bearings of the scarifier shaft,
particularly after high-pressure cleaning. To do this you
will need to take off the V-belt guard on the drive side
(10 mm spanner).

Caution
Ensure that no petrol or

wear protective gloves
when working in the
area of the scarifier
shaft.
Never forget to put the
V-belt guard back on
again.
Undo the 4 bolts "1"
and pull out the shaft.
There is no need to
realign the tine shaft
after assembly of the
tines.
Check the tension of the V-belt
on a regular basis (at least
once
a
machines and on machines
where the V-belt has just been
replaced the tension should be
checked after eight operating
hours.
Changing the V-belt
- Remove the V-belt guard (10
mm spanner)
- Undo the fastening bolts on
the foot of the engine (13
mm spanner) without fully
removing the bolts.
- Tilt the engine and use a tool
to remove the V-belt from the
V-belt pulley. If necessary,
use the palm of your hand to
turn the pulley.
- Fit a new V-belt, tilting the
engine at the same time. If
necessary, turn the pulley to
help press the V-belt into the
running groove. Only place
the palm of your hand on the
belt to rotate it.
- Tighten the engine foot bolts
(13 mm spanner).
- Attach the V-belt guard (10
mm spanner).
- The centrifugal clutch is maintenance-free. Please
consult your specialist dealer if it becomes worn.
The wheels are equipped with high-quality ball bearings
that need to be checked on a regular basis.
- Unscrew the wheel bolt (19 mm spanner) and take
out the sealing washer.
- Detach the wheel and apply lubricating grease (see
Main bearing) to the wheel hub. Evenly distribute the
grease and slide the wheel back onto the shaft.
Retighten the wheel bolt and fit the trim cap.
In addition to the instructions below, always refer
to the separate operating manual supplied by the
manufacturer.
