Note
When you are to make an important recording, be sure to make a trial
recording to check that the stereo system is recording properly.

| 4 | ERASING RECORDED TAPES
When a recording is made, anything on the tape is automatically erased
before the new material is recorded. To erase previously recorded material
and record new information simultaneously, simply follow the normal
recording method.
PHONES
To erase a recorded tape without making a new recording:
@ Slide the REC LEVEL controls to "MIN".
@ Push the RECORD ( @) button. This will begin erasing the tape.
€ When the end of tape is reached, the deck will return to its neutral
operating mode {Auto stop},

The APSS will function only if the tape has a minimum of three second
gaps between recorded programmes.
Most commercially recorded cassette tapes are recorded according to these
requirements; home recorded tapes may require editing.
Push the PAUSE { JI ) button after recording a programme item.
Slide the REC LEVEL controls to "MIN".
Push the PAUSE ( II ) button again to start the tape.

for the next recording.
Reset the REC LEVEL controls to the original position they were
in before.
Release the PAUSE { 11) button by pushing it again and to record the
next programme item.
Repeat the insertion procedure and continue recording. Follow steps
1 to 6 outlined in this section until the tape end is reached.
