S-VHS/VHS mode recording and playback
This unit can record and playback for 2 hours (2H:
standard mode) or 6 hours (6H: triple mode) in either
S-VHS or VHS mode.
Hi-Fi sound
Assemble editing and insert editing
Using the AG-A571 editing controller (purchased
separately), two units— a player and a recorder— can
be controlled directly from the controller for editing
purposes.
Insertion of video signals
Video signals (including Hi-Fi audio signals) can be

Index search (VISS high-speed automatic
search system)
A particular scene can be easily searched and
automatically played back if a VISS signal is written at

System.)
Accessories
Jog/shuttle dial
The playback speed can be varied using the shuttle
ring from still picture to up to 9 times normal speed (or
27 times in the 6H: triple mode) in both the forward
and reverse directions. |
The playback speed is determined by the speed at
which the jog dial is turned, and the direction of
playback, whether forward or reverse, is determined
by the direction in which the dial is turned.
Cueing and reviewing
When the fast forward or rewind button is pressed
during playback, the tape is played back at 9 times
(standard mode) or at 11 times (triple mode) normal
speed. This enables particular scenes to be located
speedily and easily. |
(When the button is held down, playback at 9 times or
11 times the normal speed is enabled for as long as
the button is held down, and regular pepe is
restored when it is released.)
High-speed mechanism
When any one of the following buttons is pressed, its
function is activated immediately.

Auto power ON
The unit's power is automaticaily turned on when a
cassette is inserted.
