INPUT SELECT switch
Use
this
switch
to
select
the
connectors
corresponding to the type of signals supplied by
the external unit.
S-VIDEO:
For recording signals supplied through the S-
VIDEO IN and AUDIO IN connectors.
LINE:
For recording signals supplied through the
VIDEO IN and AUDIO IN connectors.
(26) TAPE SELECT switch
When this is set to the position corresponding to
the type of cassette used, the remaining tape time
is displayed correctly.
~7120:
For T30, Т60, Т90 апа T120 cassettes.
7140-1160:
For T140 and T160 cassettes.
(d) SHUTTLE ring
Use this to vary the playback speed in the fast
forward or rewind direction.
JOG dial
Use this to find a particular image while advancing
the tape one frame at a time.
JOG/SHUTTLE button
Use this to switch to the JOG/SHUTTLE
mode.
Normal play is resumed
if the PLAY button is
pressed in the JOG/SHUTTLE
mode
or if the
JOG/SHUTTLE button is pressed again in the still-
picture play mode.
@ DISPLAY button
Each
time this button
is pressed,
the display
changes by one item in the following sequence:
clock display — counter display — remaining tape
display.
CLOCK button
Use this button to set the date and time.
PROG/CHECK button
Use
this button
to set, clear
or check
timer-
programmed recordings.
€) TRACKING/V-LOCK [+/-] buttons
Use these buttons to adjust the tracking and the
vertical hold.
They are also used to set the time
and input the timer-programmed recording data.

Manual tracking adjustment:
Keep pressing the [+] or [-] button to adjust the
tracking. This will minimize the color and noise
distortion
which
cannot
be
eliminated
by
automatic digital tracking control.
When playing a tape which was recorded on
another VTR, the manual tracking adjustment
may be performed in order for the optimum Hi-
Fi sound and picture quality to be reproduced.
Low-speed tracking adjustment
Use the buttons to minimize the noise bar
distortion which
appears
during still-picture
playback
or
low-speed
playback
(JOG/SHUTTLE playback).
Set the unit to low-
speed playback, and use the [+] or [—] button to
adjust the tracking.
Vertical hold adjustment
Use the [+] or [—] button to minimize the vertical
jitter which occurs during still-picture playback.
Ф NEXT button
Use this button to store the input data in the
memory and change the display segments.
Each
time
it is pressed,
the flashing
date
display
changes by one item in the following sequence:
year — month — day — hour — minute.
AUTO TRACKING button
This unit is equipped with an automatic digital
tracking control function.
ZERO STOP button
When this button is pressed in the stop mode, the
{аре will stop near the "0:00.00" counter display
after it has been fast forwarded or rewound.
6) AUDIO DUB button
Use this button for audio dubbing.

@ INSERT button
Use this button for insert editing.
