Installation and operating instructions

General
This instrument may only be operated by appropriately qualified and
trained personnel. It is the responsibility of the institution operating
the instrument to train and instruct operating personnel.
People working in the laser hazard area must be given instruction
concerning safety regulations, safety precautions and operation of
the instrument at least once a year. A written record of this
instruction, listing the participants, must be kept.
The user manual and instrument logbook should be at hand for
persons operating the instrument at all times.
The instrument should be used for the applications described only.
Damage occurring through the instrument being used in a manner
other than that intended is the responsibility of the user.
Do not operate the instruments supplied
- in potentially explosive atmospheres,
- in the presence of volatile anaesthetics or flammable solvents,
such as alcohol, benzene, etc.
Do not store
Do not expose the instrument to water splashes, dripping water or
sprayed water.
Do not place fluid-filled containers on top of the control unit.
Switch the instrument off immediately if smoke, sparks or unusual
noises are observed. Do not use the instrument until it has been
repaired by a Carl Zeiss Meditec authorised specialist.
If, after switching on the instrument with the key switch, the display
fails to light up, shut down the instrument, disconnect the power
cable and attach a sign which clearly states that the instrument is
out of order. Do not use the instrument until it has been repaired by
a Carl Zeiss Meditec authorised specialist.
Do not use force when inserting connectors. If the connector cannot
readily be inserted into the jack or socket, make sure that you are
using the correct connector for the socket. Do not pull the cables.
Defective connectors should be repaired by a Carl Zeiss Meditec
authorised specialist.
Modifications and repairs to this instrument and any devices
operated in combination with the VISULAS 532s are to be carried
out by Carl Zeiss Meditec authorised specialists only. The
manufacturer accepts no liability for damages caused by
unauthorised tampering with the instrument. Such actions will also
render any warranty claims invalid.
This instrument may only be used with accessory equipment
supplied by Carl Zeiss Meditec.
