Beam delivery in the LSL YAG III Combi
laser slit lamp
The laser beam is interlaced into the illumination beam path, so that
the slit image and the laser spot can move around the fundus in
synchrony.
This ensures that the area of the fundus which is to be coagulated is
always illuminated, even in the peripheral fundus.
This means of combining illumination and laser beams is particularly
advantageous for small illumination fields.
