Addendum - Unit Options
Heated Fuel Water Separator Filter
The light tower unit can be equipped with an optional
heated fuel water separator filter (A, Figure 35). To drain
the water:
1. Place an approved container under the drain plug on
the fuel water separator filter.
2. Loosen the drain plug (B, Figure 35) and the air
bleeding plug (C, Figure 35) to drain the water.
3. Let the separated water drain fully into the approved
container. Dispose of water according to local, state,
province and/or federal rules.
4. Change fuel filter as needed. Refer to
Specifications.
5. Tighten the drain plug.
6. Use the pump (D, Figure 35) on the top of the fuel
water separator to prime the filter with fuel and bleed
all the air out.
7. Tighten the air bleeding plug.

Engine Air Intake Emergency Shut-Off
Valve
The optional air intake emergency shut-off valve
automatically closes the valve and shuts down the engine
when an overspeed runaway condition occurs.
Refer to the Pacbrake PH3 programming manual for
more information on operation and programming.

WARNING
If the air intake emergency shut-off valve has shut the
engine down, leave the area immediately and obey the
safety procedures for your jobsite. Do not reset or start
the machine until the source of the problem has been
identified and a solution has been found.
Auto Mode Operation
1. If there is an overspeed runaway condition in the
engine, the controller with detect this issue and
automatically close the air intake emergency shut-off
valve (A, Figure 36) and shut down the engine.
2. The shut-off valve will remain closed for 15 seconds,
and will automatically reset to the open position.
3. Identify the source of the issue, and correct the issue.
4. Reset the Deep Sea controller by switching the
engine control panel ON / OFF switch to the 'OFF'
position and back to the 'ON" position. See Operate
the Engine for engine operating procedures.
Manual/Test Mode Operation
1. Press down the emergency shut-off valve toggle
switch (B, Figure 36) to the 'OFF' position to close the
valve.
2. Release the emergency shut-off valve switch to 'ON'
position to reset the valve to the open position.
3. Manual Mode: Identify the source of the issue, and
correct the issue.
Test Mode: Check functionality of the valve.
4. Reset the Deep Sea controller by switching the
engine control panel ON / OFF switch to the 'OFF'
position and back to the 'ON" position. See Operate
the Engine for engine operating procedures.
