5000 hours.
Once this period has elapsed, the theoretic bearing life (tab. from
page 70) is reached by changing the old grease with the quantity of
new grease indicated in the «Technical specifications» table.
The motor-driven vibrators have ball bearings (screened and pre-
lubricated) and require no further lubrication. With the exception of
mod. GR 30, the motor-driven vibrators are equipped with lubrication
channels accessible from the outside. The user may, therefore, use
the «periodical re-lubrication» method at his discretion. This must be
carried out every 1000 hours on average, using the quantities of
grease listed on the relative table.
The frequency with which periodical re-lubrication is required depends
both on the operating conditions and on the type of electric vibrator.
Periodical re-lubrication avoids the need to completely change the
grease since the electric vibrator must be demounted for this
operation.
The periodical re-lubrication method is recommended for particularly
heavy duty use such as round-the-clock service and work in high
ambient temperatures (>40°C).
For heavy-duty use, the motor-driven vibrator must be lubricated
frequently.
For 3000 rpm vibrators re-lubrification must be performed at
regular intervals using ISOFLEX NBU 15-type grease.
Proceed in the following way in order to change the grease:
- Disconnect the electricity supply.
- Remove the covers of the motor-driven vibrator.
- Remove the eccentric weights and place them on the ground in
their demounting sequence (Fig. 36).
- Remove the bearing flanges from the casing by means of the
threaded pull holes (Fig. 37).
Take care to keep the flange and casing perfectly square to each
other when the first flange is removed, in order to prevent
damage to the bearings.
Remove the shaft and the second flange.
Clean the old grease from the bearing (Fig. 38). Apply the prescribed
amount of new grease as indicated in the «Technical Features»
Table, fully spreading it inside the bearing and pressing down so that
the grease penetrates the rolling parts.
Having terminated this operation, remount the parts in the correct
sequence, keeping the flanges perfectly square to the casing (Fig.
39). Take care to ensure that the seals correctly fit into their housings
(Fig. 40).
Never mix different types of grease together even when their
characteristics are similar.
Excessive quantities of grease cause the bearings to become
very hot. This results in abnormally high current absorption and
premature bearing failure.
Comply with the environmental laws in force in the country
where the equipment is used and governing the utilization and
disposal of the products used to clean and service the motor-
driven vibrator. Also comply with the recommendations of the
manufacturer of such products. If the machine is dismantled,
comply with the anti-pollution laws in force in the country of
use.
Lastly, remember that the Manufacturer is always at your
disposal for any spare parts or assistance as may be required.
SECTION 6

Spare parts

6.0 SPARE PARTS
Always state the following when ordering spare parts:
- Type of electric rotary vibrator (indicated on the data plate);
ENGLISH
- Series (indicated on the data plate);
- Description of the required spare part (indicated in the lists of
spare parts on the last pages of this handbook);
- Code number (indicated in the lists of spare parts on the last
pages of this handbook) and required quantity;
- WOUND STATORS and MOTORS UNITS: if these are required,
indicate the type of vibrator, the series, plus the power supply
voltage and frequency;
- The exact address to which the goods must be sent and the means
of dispatch.
ITALVIBRAS declines all responsibility for incorrect supplies
due to incomplete or inaccurate requests.
The asterisks in the «DESCRIPTION» column of the parts lists mean
that these parts are also easily available on the market; squares ( )
indicated along side parts in the Spare-Parts list indicate that these
components are part of the motor unit.
HOW TO IDENTIFY A SPARE PART IN THE CATALOGUE
A) Identify the type of vibrator from the data plate.
B) dentify the type of vibrator in the spares tables (page 75).
C) Identify the required part and its position number in the specific
table.
D) Using this position number, identify the part code in the parts list
pages (from page 76 to page 77) according to the relevant frame
size.
