The rope
should only be rolled in one layer on a grooved drum
should only be used for lifting and lowering of various loads and must not be used for any other purpose
in lowest position at least 3 full turns of rope should remain on the drum when loaded
lateral rope deflection angle
for standard wire rope ≤ 3°,
for special rope ≤ 1,5° (see picture)
The criteria relating to maximum lateral rope deflection also apply for the rope course over de-
flection pulleys.
Minimum load (pre-tensioning) for correct winding of the rope, approx. 1-2% of the minimum
breaking load of the wire rope.
If the rope is slackened (tension removed), the already wound rope will work loose. If winding
under load is continued, the wire rope may be destroyed.
To prevent rope wear, first unwind the wire rope completely and then wind it up again layer-
by-layer under load.

slowly position the slack rope to the load
only cables with test certificate 2.2 DIN EN 10204 may be used
1.4 Electric parts
The electric connection or repair on electric parts may only be executed by trained
experts.
Observe the safety regulations and standards of electrical engineering.
Works on the electric installation may only be executed with cleared power supply.

El. overload safety device (if any). Overload protection definitely required for lifting capacity of 1000 kg
and more.
1.6 Load attachment device:
check it has sufficient carrying capacity
load hooks must have safety catches
load hooks must be secured to the rope with a solid eye and high
pressure rope clamp and tested according to the regulations
fix the load correctly
do not use the winch rope as a hitching device.
